First, open the MT4 Trading platform then click on “File” on the top navigation menu, and then click on “Open Data Folder” in the drop-down menu. This will open the data folder on your computer. Then click on “MQL4” folder, and then click on “Experts” folder. This is the folder where the “Expert Advisor” needs to be added. Now you can copy and paste the “.mq4” or “.ex4” file to this “Expert Advisor” folder. Once added, restart your MT4 trading platform. The required “Expert Advisor” will be available for use. Now you can drag and attach your “Expert Advisor” to any chart you want from “Expert Advisor” folder under “Navigator” window that is located under “View” on the top navigator menu of your MT4 trading platform.
Make sure you have checked “Allow Automated Trading” and “Allow Live Trading” options in your MT4 trading platform and Expert Advisor respectively while attaching the Expert Advisor to the chart for live automated trading by the Expert Advisor.
In MT4, you can find “Allow Automated Trading” option under “Expert Advisors” under “Options” that is located under “Tools” on the top navigator menu of your MT4 trading platform.
You can find “Allow Live Trading” option under “Common” option of your Expert Advisor while attaching it to the chart.
Now your Expert Advisor is ready for automated live trading and will trade automatically as per the entry and exit signals generated by it.
